Asaokenoke (麻桶の毛, Asaokenoke) is a yōkai from Japanese folklore.


According to legend, in Kamo village, a shrine god was angry at the people. So the local shintai grew more and started attacking people. It can also be in defense. In one story it attacked and captured three robbers. When the police found them they were tied up in hair.
